The "Seafood Oyster Bay Expressway" is a play on a Long Island highway called the "Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway."

NYNEX and Exxon have their logos merged on a distant building, and a phrase written under the payphone reads "Bye bye, hanging up now!"
