Autumn:  We focused on a hacker campground for the Autumn 2007 cover.

The third Chaos Communication Camp had just taken place in Berlin, Germany, and it filled the community with stories and inspiration.  The picture itself is mostly unmodified from the original.  (The sky really was that ominous.)

The sticker on the garbage can was added as well.  This was a reference to a new data espionage law in Germany that had the potential to criminalize a lot of legal activity.

The two cats silhouetted in the foreground were also added.  In reality, they were actually looking in, not out.
