Title: Verizon Ghost Phone Call Written: 04/01/03 Author: DarkKnight Summary: Have Verizon and want to mess with someones head in your house by having the phone ringing until picked up? Like your mom or dad or sister or brother? And when picked up, start giving a 'beeeeeeeep' noise? Warning: This article is useless...it doesnt do anything, but annoy people. If you lost interest already, then dont read on. Disclaimer: DarkKnight cannot get introuble for anything you do with this. This is perfectly legal to do though, I'm just putting it in here out of habbit. However, some schools may take action if you get caught when doing this, so look out for that alright? Article: Making a verizon payphone/house phone ring is as easy as 123. Its also very annoying because the phone does not stop ringing until someone picks it up, which means if you're by like 2,3,etc pay phones, you can have them all ringing and when people walk by them, they will most likely pick them or just walk away thinking "what the hell". Now, enough of the blah blah blah'ing, time for the good stuff. Alright, if you're reading this and are about to do this to your house phone, I recommend using a non-cordless phone because you're going to need to be able to hang up the phone easily and most, if not all, non-cordless phones have a little button (dont know the correct name) that needs to be pressed down by the phone to make it hang up. Its easy using a cordless phone too though, so don't worry if you dont have one. Anyways, dial the following numbers '958' (Note: Don't dial your area code before dialing this). After dialing '958', dial the last four digits of your phone number. Alright, now to the 'slightly' harder part. Wait until you get a dial tone...after you get one wait about 2 or 3 seconds, then hang up the phone two times, pausing 1 second between each hang-up (Note: Leave the phone hung-up so that you dont have to hold down the button if you're using a non-cordless phone). If done correctly the pay phone/home phone that uses verizon as its service, should call back and ring until it gets picked up. If you're doing this to pay phones to annoy people or see if they'll pick em up or some stupid crap, then it is best to do it at a very populated area, like a mall or at school (it annoys the janitors and stupid curious students will have the urge to answer the phone). Alright, I have noticed that verizon has some telephones that do not allow the dialing of 958 + the #s. They say crap about needing to insert 50 cents (expensive bastards)...well, I havent tried it yet, but if your willing to risk 50 cents to do a stupid trick then try the following. Dial 958 and the last four digits of the pay phone. Hang up twice with intervals of 1 second as usual and press down the little handle thing to get your money back...I'd like to also note that the phone number of the pay phone is usually right below the the hanging up part of the phone, the lever-like part where the speaker part of the phone hangs from. Well, have fun with this useless trick.
