| Pirate TV Basics          |

 Alrighty, who out there has not seen Pump Up The Volume? If you haven't, 
 its a movie about a teenager who starts up a Pirate FM radio station, 
 and somehow revolutionizes his town. And of course, you saw all the 
 hollywood magic, and the wonderous circut boards. And then you thought 
 
 "No way in hell can I do something like this" 


 Well, in a way you were right
 (unless you happen to have some good electronic knowledge, if you do, 
 e-mail me, we need to talk lol) 

 However, because of all these wonderful things that use our TV's as 
 monitors(PSX, Commodore 64 <you know you want one>), you can buy a most 
 of the parts to a pirate TV station at my favorite store, Rat Shack. 

 But before you get into anything too big, you need to know the basic four 
 parts you need for any form of broadcasting station. You need what you 
 want to broadcast, a modulator, to make the signal from what you have 
 to, in this case, a TV signal, you need an amplifier, as modulators give
 *very* weak signals, and you need an antenna, to get your signal going 
 out. Lets start from the modulator, as I am assuming you already have 
 something you want to send out over the airwaves

 This probably sounds quite hard but it actually is one of the simple of 
 the three to obtain. All this does is make it so your TV can read what 
 it is your sending. Ring a bell out there? Don't you have something you 
 hook your PSX to your TV with? Note how it says "RF modulator". These 
 devices are quite complex, but we don't need to build one, we just go to
 rat shack and buy one. 

 Simple, huh?

 This is the hardest to obtain. What you are looking for is a wideband 
 amplifier. I can't remember where I saw it, but they said a 6 meter ham 
 radio amplifier works for this. Look up a Ham Fest in your neighborhood,
 check it out on google. This is the only aspect I *don't* have luck in. 

 Another posibility are those antenna amplifiers you can buy at radio 
 shack to pick up really distant signals. Try it. If it works, tell me, 
 I'll be enamored.

 This is simply your standard TV antenna. Can anyone say rat shack? I 
 know they are too expensive but they have the shit you want, when and 
 where. A standard VHF antenna will do, as you can only transmit on 
 channel 3 or 4 from what I remember of store bought modulators. 

 So thats it. Rig this up in a remote location that you can completely 
 deny you ever had access to, and start broadcasting phreak TV, like 
 razor and blade, from hackers

 (you know you saw that movie, don't try and deny it...) 

 Remeber that you can buy coax to connect all the shit together at, where 
 else folks? rat shack! ANd pick up some tone dialers while you're there.
