                    [ - How To Build A CD Redbox - ]

Things you will need:
A set of redbox tones
A blank cd-r
CD burner
Discman w/headfones

	Ok, so you want an easy to make and easy to use redbox which doesn't 
look suspicious? Well I think I have just the thing! There are so many 
versions of the redbox out there that you can use, but the CD redbox is 
probably the most covert way of using one. First off, you need to find a 
set of redbox tones (5 cents, 10 cents, 25 cents). You can pick up a tone 
generator off of PaPhreak or simply create these tones yourself. The frequencies 
used for the redbox are 1700 HZ and 2200 HZ mixed together. A nickle being 
one beep, dime 2 beeps, and quarter 5 beeps (approx 33 miliseconds repeated
on and off five times). Now that you have you your tones, go find your trusty 
cd burner and pop in a blank cd-r. If you don't have one, try asking around 
and see if you can borrow a friends. Simply burn the tones onto disk 
(track 1 being the nickel, track 2 being the dime, and track 3 being the quarter). 
Go dig up your discman or whatever brand cd player you own, pop in the 
disk, and you are ready to go. Now go find a payphone in your area that 
works for redboxing, put the headfones up to the mouthpiece, and play your 
tones. Ok, here's a little twist on how to make your headfones a little more 
efficient. Rip off you the cushions on your headfones and apply a rubber 
piece approx the size of the mouthpiece. You can find a perfect rubber 
piece off of the hackshack tone dialers. This isn't much, but it makes 
a comfortable fit so there is no interference when playing your redbox 
tones. That about does it, have fun with your new CD redbox!
