it was pondered me many times..hiding from caller ID i had done some research and discoverd that there only but i few ways
to hide from it alothough it nothing like ANI it will still track i have learned even 800 numbers have a CID to be secure 
but even in the world of phones you can never be "secure" here i will tell you all the learning  and what i discoverd on 
CID

*67 i have herd many times this method  geting talked about.."the legel way" but the only thing it dose is thorw up 
something like blocked,private or uniavable depending on the brand/manufacturer it is able to work on just about any line
aslong as it has the service to my knowlge it is free

A calling card will block the number you are calling from Feds use this method more then anybody it will show the outdial 
number of the card issuer and will neglect a *57 trace although a intense investigation may leave you caught depending on 
the reasons of blocking the number->another words if you are doing something crimnal or harrasing with the word killing or 
hostage perhabs it will get intense...

10-10-321 this will send up any number (out of area) even local calls  come up (out of area) when using it im pretty sure 
that similar 10-10 numbers do the same this is great to use maybe on top of a payphone only the pariniod surrvie...

a analog cellular phone depending on the brand of the phone ( private,unavilable,out of area ect.) will pop up  this may be 
cheaper then a phone card depending on how many minutes you buy coming up with the phone maybe cheap too go too a pondshop 
or online you will find one somewhere

and there is always the many boxes to do this biege,black,gold and many other not listed can be used some how to get around
