Google and Terraserver don't agree as to their plots of this address. I can provide the general area, but I'm not sure which building this office is located.

Although this next article doesn't really concern the Columbus office per se, it does talk about Threat Assessment Management in the corporate world. Now you know my eyes lit up when I saw the reference to the SS. The authors, John Winowich and Leonard A. Hall say, "In this article, we focus specifically on a deductive, fact-based threat assessment approach originally developed by the United States Secret Service for protecting public officials." They are meticulous in pointing out how a threat is assessed and what level it is assigned. I wonder at what level this survey will garner? Since all of it is from freely available sources, I would think the SS should shut down Google, Yahoo, and all the wonderful search engines that probably make the real threats happy. In other words SS, don't come crying to me. I'm not the threat. Corporate America is. >:) Anyway, you can find the article here. Just as a precautionary step, I took the liberty of downloading the pdf just in case it disappears from the Internet.

The Google imagery is too grainy to be useful. I don't have high confidence that I've found the correct place for this office.

In researching this office, I came across the process of how the SS, at least this office, goes about choosing student interns. At http://www.bgsu.edu/departments/crju/criminal_justice/cj_content/internship.html they tell the procedures of how student interns should apply with Federal agencies, especially for the SS:

"Many students are interested in interning with a federal agency such as the U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, etc… We have students intern with those agencies nearly every semester and they typically are great learning experiences.

Please note however, that the deadline for many federal agencies will be approximately 9 months prior to beginning the internship. Also note that federal internships tend to be quite competitive. Many federal agencies will not consider students with below a 3.0 GPA and usually require an interview and extensive application procedures. This is not to scare you away, but to make you aware of the challenges ahead.

The Toledo office of the Secret Service does not take applications from students. Instead, interested students should talk with Dr. Lab or Dr. Holcomb to be considered. The Criminal Justice faculty will select the most appropriate student from the names of interested students and submit a single student to the Toledo Secret Service office. Their deadline for summer internship applications is October 1st and this means that students need to notify one of the above faculty members well before that date."

OSIN- In other words, interns, be prepared to suck up. As for the SS, this survey shouldn't scare them away, but should make them aware of the challenges ahead.

Okay, I can't believe the SS would keep an office of just 3 people. But, in this article, it's mentioned that Tom Lafarree is one of 3 people in the Toledo office. As a bit of a history lesson, Tom mentions that evidence of the first burning of the White House by the British could still be seen when he worked the presidential protection duty.
