Address: FAA, Los Angeles Center. 2555 East Avenue P, Palmdale, CA 93550

Here's a link which mentions the next generation of remote tower monitoring systems. An interesting fact about this is that the cameras are controlled over the Internet. Hmmm. >:) http://ic.arc.nasa.gov/publications/pdf/2001-0266.pdf

Here's an interesting column written about a quick history of how the FAA came into being: http://www.avweb.com/news/columns/186059-1.html. Although the writer, Don Brown, works for the Atlanta ARTCC, he mentions that during the 2003 wildfires in California, certain control areas in the ZLA ARTCC had to be evacuated. Anyway, after reading the article, I don't think I'll fly anymore.

AF-1 information related to the following airports:

LAX- Yes, AF-1 has been here. Back in 1999 AF-1 had to take avasive manuevers to miss a commuter plane. The fact that the press was on board created a "story" to be beamed to all the world. The 1000ft minimum seperation distance was never broken. This article did give some intelligence into how AF-1 pilots respond to a mid-air emergency. You can read it at http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/americas/newsid_345000/345106.stm. Oh, by the way, you can read how George Bush, Jr., destroyed the longest runway at Las Cruses, NM, and how Clinton stopped all air traffic going into and out of LAX just to get a hair cut from Hillary's stylist at http://nitpicker.blogspot.com/2005/09/goddammit.html.

LAS- Yes, they've all been here- Clinton, Bush, even Cheney. He proved that a Vice-President can be all powerful by delaying air traffic for 15-20 minutes at a time. Read his "I AM ALL POWERFULL" story at http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2004/Jun-22-Tue-2004/news/24151406.html

SAN- Well, I know at least AF-1 has been near here. According to a fucking neocon that was trying to set up a counter protest to the Iraq war protesters (instead of getting his cowardly ass down to the recruiters), he mentioned that he saw AF-1 landing at the Naval Air Station North Island. This is the airfield south of SAN and across the San Diego Bay. My belief that AF-1 prefers to land at military installations or the side of airports that host a guard unit is being solidified. Thanks, neocon fool! >:P 1
