Client Profile Software (CPS) Version 4

Client Profile Software (CPS) provides first party Computer Telephony Integration. Computer Telephone Integration (CTI) relates to the merger of telecommunication services offered by public and/or private networks and the information capabilities of computing devices. CTI applications range from a screen based telephony application that allows a personal computer to control the telephone, to call center telemarketing or similar operator services applications. CTI interoperability is limited by the existence of proprietary solutions on certain types of configurations or customer needs.

CPS is a PC software package that couples digital phone lines with personal computers to dramatically extend the capabilities of ISDN. On every call - incoming and outgoing - information about the person calling or being called is instantly retrieved and displayed on the screen. This information can include the caller's name, telephone number, company, address, account number, etc. or even a picture of the caller. In addition, CPS provides distinctive ringing patterns that can be assigned to a particular caller.

Other CPS features include a note area in which information about particular call can be stored: a call log which stores the date, time, type, duration of call if answered and disposition if not answered -- such as transferred to voice mail, message desk or co-worker; called/calling number on all calls; drag and drop operation with point-and-click dialing and call control including conference and transfer, plus several levels of databases to store "client" information; direct access to voice mail and much more!

CPS requires the following:

  1. An Intel® based personal computer using 386-33 or faster processor with 8 MB or more RAM, 3 MB available hard disk space, MS Windows 3.1 or later, windows supported mouse and one available serial communications port. A sound card is optional.
  2. A Lucent 7506, 7507, 8510, 8520 or 8538T ISDN Phone set. The Lucent 7506 and 7507 sets must have firmware version FP3.x for Lucent Custom ISDN service or firmware version SI-1.x for National ISDN service.
  3. RS232 cable to connect the ISDN Phone set to the PC serial communication port.
  4. Custom ISDN service or National ISDN 1 (NI 1) service.
