Modular Hardware and Software

The 5ESS®-2000 Switch has an innovative modular design that set it apart from all other switches. By consolidating Switching Modules (SMs), you can upgrade to a SM-2000, increasing the number of subscribers supported from 512 to up to 30,000 on one piece of equipment. This upgrade also saves floor space, power consumption and spares when compared to installing new SMs. And as more customers are served with less equipment, considerable operational savings are achieved. With fewer SMs to update with new software, new services are delivered faster, increasing customer satisfaction and ultimately revenue streams.
