For the network, new features such as ISUP (ISDN User Part) Loop Detection and a Safety Net for Common Network Interface (CNI) Ring Recovery maintain high performance levels and guard against a network outage. Several reliability improvements have been made at the switch level. In the unlikely event a power outage should occur, 5E11 software has Automatic Power Recovery Phase II. This feature enables the complete automatic power recovery of the 5ESS®-2000 Switch, reducing downtime from a possible six hours to just a few minutes.
