Recent Software Releases provided additional capacity on the Switch Module 2000 to allow more termination of ISDN-PRI (Primary Rate Interface). In release 5E10, the B-channel termination was increased from 1000 to 3000 terminations; in release 5E11, the D-channel termination will increase from 31 to 127 terminations. Actual maximum channel capacity depends upon the specific customer application.

A common problem for new ISDN customers is the manual entry of a multi-digit number, a service profile identifier or SPID, into each new ISDN data terminal device. The SPID number is also added when lines have been moved. The solution -- only found in 5E11 software -- is Automatic SPID Download. Now the switch will recognize a Universal SPID and can automatically download the assigned numbers to the equipment terminals. This eliminates all manual entry procedures. As a result, ISDN customers are up and running faster and easier than ever before without costly on site visits to diagnosis and fix incorrectly entered numbers .
