The Status Box          By Aztech

Hooookay,basically what this little box does is monitor the voltage polarity
(+ve or -ve)on each cable within your phone line,and give a visual indicator
as to what lines are active and whether there is voltage flowing in or out.
you will need:

4 Red Standard LEDs
4 Green Standard LEDs
1 BT socket(6 or 4 contacts)
1 Trailing cable with an attached BT plug
A Box roughly the size of a mouse
Solder,wires,etc...

Assemble the components in the following manner:

The top LED should be green on each line,and the bottom red,depending on 
taste.Just remember to have the same colours for top and bottom on each
line,or none of them will make any sense.The diagram indicates the
orientation of each LED,But just for the terminally brain-damaged,here is
a short explanation of LED Polarity:-

   ANODE(+ve) ---------->|---------- CATHODE(-ve)

The positive leg of the LED module is identified by a flat bezel near the
pin.Additionally,anode is noticeably longer than the cathode,and takes up
most of the physical bulk of metal within the unit(Its the BIG BIT).
Once youve built the Above,connect the trailing cable to the left hand side
in the diagram,and the socket on the right.Put it in the box.Plug the box 
into the wall,and the phone into the box.Pick-up,and you should see the box
lights wink and stay on.To get a regular Christmas tree going,dial 
174(Faultsman Ringback) and wait for it to dial back.
