For those that have not previously heard of Back Orifice, it was a "security tool" released by The Cult of the Dead Cow. Basically, it allows a user to remotely administer Windows boxes. It also has the convienent feature of allowing for plugins. This set of pages were used as the distribution point for a number of plugins that I wrote during the years of 1999 and 2000.
The latest version of BO is BO2K and is available at http://bo2k.sourceforge.net/, but as best as I know, my BO and BO2K plugins no longer work with it.
Development and maintenance of these plugins has been discontinued. I no longer have a Windows machine, nor the desire to code Windows applications in my spare time, even under an emulator like Virtual PC.
The plugins that used to be here include:
- BT 2K - The Butt Trumpet 2000 plugin for BO2K. Once installed and started, this plugin sends you an email with the host's IP address.
- BOred - The BOred plugin for BO2K. It is never got far out of development, but will allow you to turn the BO'ed machine into not much more than a boring dumb terminal.
- Silk Rope 2K - Silk Rope 2K! Bind your BO2K server to an existing program. New and improved! Now features: a full graphical user interface for setup and an target date for infection.
- Speakeasy - An IRC plugin that secretly logs into a predefined server and broadcasts the host's IP address. Not very robust--used primarily as a proof of concept tool.
- Silk Rope Classic - A packager that allows you to bind Back Orifice to most any existing program
- Saran Wrap - A packager that allows you to hide Back Orifice in an existing standard "Install Shield"-like installer
- Butt Trumpet - A plugin that sends you an email with the host's IP address, once installed
